Some kind of wonderful.

This guy just makes me so happy.

Stockholm - It's all good.

So, Friday I finally flew to Stockholm to meet up with Evelina, Mikael, Viktor and my cousin Ami for a weekend.

Mikael picked me up from the train station and we were off to Evelina's where we started off with some great pizza. Viktor did the start.
Mikael was entertaining me. He did a good job.
On Saturday we went to the Temple for a session. What a beautiful Temple and ground. Saturday afternoon we took off for the downtown Stockholm but before we had some fun at the parking place. We had so much fun the whole weekend!
Stockholm is really a beautiful city. Too bad it was a bit foggy.
The Royal Palace. Did you know the Swedish queen is German. Ha - there you go.
They even have a Jerusalem Kebab. I wonder if they also have Kebab in Jerusalem..
Saturday night we went out for dinner in a nice restaurant - the food was delicious. This is what I call brotherly/sisterly love.
Us.
Thank you for a wonderful weekend. I am still at Evelina's until tomorrow, but then I am off to spend 5 days with Mikael. I can't wait.

saying goodbye

Last week has been full of saying 'goodbye' but also saying 'hello'. First I said goodbye at one of our company events in Vienna, Austria. My boss had the song 'You are simply the best' by Tina Turner played and I had to go up on stage where 600 guests were sitting up on front. When I started walking from the back towards the stage and the song was playing I was already starting to cry. As you can see..
My boss then talked about me and my job I did and told them I was moving to Sweden and then I got standing ovations. Man, what a feeling. I think I want to become a star now.
After that my trainee, Esra, came and hugged me - what a cutie. I will really miss her.

On Wednesday I had my farewell at work - as you can see, the theme is: Sweden. I had my friend Evelina send me Swedish flags and my other friend IKEA made some good food.

My boss gave a little speech. He is really the greatest boss I have ever had. Not because of the things he said about me but because of how much I have learned from and with him and because of how much I have grown within the past two years.
They gave me a DVD with a compliation of pictures from several company events I attended. It was really special.
Afterwards I explained the Swedish food and how you eat it. Oh, how I love the Swedish food.
My colleagues also gave me a little treasure box with all kinds of nice things in it.
And a book where each department had written something in. Made me cry again!
Afterwards we did what we are best at - being silly and having a good time!

Friday I left for Stockholm to spend the weekend with Evelina, Mikael, Viktor and my cousin Ami. My three favourite colleagues waved goodbye! It feels good to say goodbye and hello to a new life. But it is still weird. No work but other challenges. But life is great.

Close encounter of the Swedish kind.

This weekend I had a wonderful guest over from Sweden - Mikael. It was also quite spontaneous. I guess that will be my motto for 2007.. being spontaneous.

Besides a trip to the Temple, a whole lot of fun and good conversations we drove up north with my brother and his wife where we visited the other part of my family.
We also visited Celle, the town where my parents live. It is really beautiful, very old with crooked houses and - beautiful doors. It rained the whole day, though..
Saturday night we arrived back in Frankfurt where we did some sightseeing. Mikael also likes to take photos. I was happy to see that I am not the only one who is taking pictures of everything! :)
This weekend I was horrible at taking good-quality-photos - as you see. This photo below was an experiment which didn't turn out but I still wanted to post it.
I enjoyed every minute. Tschüss.

Spontaneous in Switzerland.

My roomie and I were quite spontaneous last Saturday! We took her nice rental car and drove 3 hours to Zürich, where our friend Meike lives. It was a great decision because I hadn't seen Meike for a long time and it was fun to spend more time with Bettina.

'girl-mobile'
Zürich is a nice city - I heard so many people say how great it is but to be honest, I have seen greater and more beautiful places.. I hope nobody is offended now..
They even had a little 'China-Town'. Ahm, not really.
Züricher See - Really, it was quite dark that day.. Meike & BettinaMeike & me
The sea.
Although Zürich wasn't that beautiful, the surroundings were really amazing! And fresh air!Switzerland is famous for their cheese. And especially for Raclette. So good.
Meike even has a fireplace in her appartment. I love it.
Sunday we drove back home after church. A weekend with little sleep but with great company and food. Thanks, girls.
