supercalifragialisticexpialidocious!

Don't we all have movies that we combine with our childhood and loved as kids? For me one of the movies is 'Mary Poppins'.

Meike and I thought of seeing the Mary Poppins musical in London while we were there but we found cheap tickets to another show. I felt inspired to see it again and was so excited when amazon finally send it to me - after 4 days of waiting!

Today I sat on the couch with Meike and we saw it again. There is no better word to describe how I felt as: supercalifragialisticexpialidocious!

The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire!

Oh what a Saturday it was yesterday!

1. Our wachingmashine broke this week and our friend came by to fix it today - but he couldn't fix it.
2. A company was supposed to pick up my piano from my parents place - on the way something happened to his tires and his car had to be taken home.
3. I had to bring 4 machines full of dirty clothes to the laundromat.
4. I was invited to a party tonight with all kinds of international people and food - I am still sick with runny nose and bad cough so I didn't go.

And this is where it all started:
5. I just wanted to put a movie in the dvd player when I heard something dripping really loud. I thought the kitchen sink was leaking but then I found out the sealing is dripping with a not so little amount of water from the guys upstairs and they weren't home!

So I called the landlord and he called my neighbours who were home 5 minutes later and rushed up into their appartment. When they opened their door my neighbour Carsten called 'fire call the brigade!!!" Man, i had never experienced something like this before!! While I called the brigade my neighbour yelled that the fire was gone. The brigade came anyway and found out that the the washingmashine had a short-circuit. Due to that circuit the machine-hose melted and the water run out and right into my sealing.

So, after the brigade left we cleaned up the bathroom which was completely black!

The good part of the story: I cleaned up the bathroom with 3 sweating good looking guys who had their shirt off! (i had to force myself not to grin too much!) hahaa! But the downside - all 3 are gay.

This is how I looked like after 1,5 hours of cleaning and sweating like a shmaniac. Hot? Not.

Foxtrott Lima Yankee India November Golf

Last week I had to fly to Salzburg with my boss for an event we have in October. Salzburg is really beautiful, very old and romantic - as all of Austria.

As we wanted to be flexible and my boss wanted to fly we rented a little one engine airplane. It is also cheaper to rent it than to pay for 2 tickets! I was really excited because it is just amazing to sit up there and just enjoy the beautiful scenery.

As you know every pilot needs a co-pilot so this was my task. It was fun to listen to the radio contact of the different towers of the areas. In my mind I was always trying to figure out where the pilot comes from who just told the tower that he was "there".. My task was also to hold the maps, check out the abbreviations of the airports on the way and just to make sure my boss was entertained. Nothing easier than that.

pitstop - fuel.
I am not going to comment every picture. Just the pictures do the rest.

In Austria - look at those beautiful alpes!!
my boos, Thomas.

arriving in Salzburg.
I didn't take my camera with me to Salzburg - duh. After meetings we met with my bosses former business partner who had never flown with Thomas so we also took him along and flew around the lakes with him.

The end. You may close your mouth again and have a deep sigh.

friends.

Friends are great. Especially dutch friends who come over for the weekend and then decide to stay for a couple more days. And then they (he) also decide(s) to clean up! Or maybe he was just so disgusted because I was sick and the kitchen was messy? Um. Who cares, the thought counts! :)

Dank je heel well, Daniel. Je bent heeel leuk!

london, the great of britain.

London, I heart you with all my love. I have been to London 3 times now and it had never had such an impact on me like last time..

Meike and I arrived Thursday night at Heathrow airport and we were so excited to be in London!! Well, you can't see it in that picture but we really were!

We stayed with our friend Ian who lives around the corner from the tube station "Edgware Road" where one of the bombs had exploded last year just around this time. So as it was the "anniversary" people had put flowers there.. Roast on me my first thought was: Hey, some gardener is advertising here.. (Maybe I shouldn't even say this here.. )

Our first cliché in London - a black taxi and a doubledecker bus!
bloody tourists.
Guess what the first thing was we did Friday morning? See our excited faces and have a guess.
We were trying to make an 'L' but we look more like losers as you can't see what we want to show..
Shopping! And even SALE WEEKEND!!
My own version of 'fish & chips' (with a tuna panini..)
Lovely Meike!
And then we met up with Alex who had just barely gotten back from his 6 month trip to the States. He is the best guide around London. Blimey!
Meike's blue phase.
BATMAN visits London.
Doors - I love doors! And they had all these cute little old and coloured doors!
and a shop only for dessert.. We just had a look not a taste.. Doesn't it look delicious??
....
My moms name is Leena..
Strolling around town.. Alex really is the best guide. He took us to see all the inside stuff and it was great! Oh yes and we met up with our friend Kristina who had flown in Friday morning.

Alex took us to 'Neals yard' a little backyard in SoHo. Very bright coloured houses. This is where Monty Python used to live.

While we were downtown I suddenly had an amazing smell in my nose. Very sweet but pure. And it came straight from The Tea House. I still remember it. Yummy.
Just some nice buildings..
Our friend Noelle told us about a ticket booth at Leicester Square where you can get cheap musical tickets for the same day so Friday night we went to see 'Guys and dolls' a musical. Supposedly with Patrick Swayze but "due to indisposition" he wasn't able to be there.. Whatever.. But it was great and a lot of fun. My first musical experience.. I didn't take any pictures. Why? Can't remember..

Saturday morning we headed out to Notting Hill in hope to find Hugh Grant there but "due to indisposition he wasn't able to make it". So here are some pictures of beautiful Notting Hill, Portobello market with the flee market on Saturday morning. Notting Hill is famous for it's neat houses and the "trendy neighbourhood". It was so crowded that I got annoyed after a couple of hours but I still enjoyed myself.

Meike and Kristina in the tube.

There was this cute poster. Pouting. Yeah, really - kiss me quick!
Saturday afternoon we met up with friends in Hyde Park. From the left - Aaron, Alex, Evon, Meike and Kristina. Aaron and Alex are very funny when they are let out of their cage. Now we know how to spot a chav and what 'muffins' are. Thanks lads.
Another inside tip. BBC Proms, the World's Greatest Classical Music Festival in the Royal Albert Hall near Hyde Park for 5 pounds standing downstairs or lying on a blanket with food and drinks on the galery whilst listening to beautiful classical music and opera pieces. 2,5 hours went by so fast and I was quite relaxed afterwards. Great!
The sealing - looked like mushrooms.. But apparently there had been too much echo so they built these acoustic diffusors in 1969.
Picnic part 2.
They change the colours on the back light bulbs.
Sunday afternoon we went to the singles ward there. Here is Ian our host. Thanks again - you are great, Ian.

We left right after church back home. Yeah, how much poo is that!? I honestly didn't want to go home .. Meike might move to Zurich beginning last year and I am thinking of moving to London. Moving fever is high again.
